Dr. Luke Miller is a finance professor and consultant with nearly 30 years of experience developing Bayesian learning algorithms for complex decision-making systems across a wide range of industries. His work applies a proprietary probabilistic framework — grounded in Bayesian inference — to help organizations navigate uncertainty, evaluate risk, and improve strategic outcomes.
Dr. Miller's consulting practice spans a broad cross-section of industries, with particular depth in financial services. He has advised institutions such as Morningstar, Neuberger Berman, American Express, and StanCorp Financial Group, along with numerous hedge funds, family offices, and nonprofit endowments. In technology and AI, he has partnered with Oracle, Salesforce, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and a range of high-growth platforms to translate advanced analytics into practical decision systems. His energy and infrastructure work includes engagements with Energy Transfer, UGI Utilities, and energy-focused investment funds, while his experience in insurance and healthcare spans organizations including Marsh McLennan, Delta Dental, VNS Health, and Amgen.
Beyond these sectors, Dr. Miller has advised global manufacturers such as Michelin, Harman International, and Lennox International, and major service and distribution companies including Amazon, PepsiCo, and UPS. He has also applied his probabilistic frameworks to mission-driven organizations such as National Geographic and The Nature Conservancy, supporting complex strategic and operational challenges.
Dr. Miller currently serves as a finance professor in the Economics & Business Department at Saint Anselm College. He holds an undergraduate degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia, where upon completion, proudly served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force in the roles as an instructor and program manager. He later earned both his Master's and Ph.D. in Financial Engineering from Auburn University, where he was awarded the Gilbreth Memorial Fellowship — a distinction recognizing the top doctoral student in the nation.
